Hilda founded Luminari because she believes each of us is a citizen of the world—and that we could all use a bit of mind-broadening. Entrepreneurial by nature, she excels at building both nonprofit and for-profit ventures. A global thinker, social entrepreneur, communicator, and advocate for gender equity, Hilda created the Pittsburgh Regional Champions program, empowering professionals and volunteers to promote the region’s economic vitality. She previously served as Executive Director of summer programs at Point Park University and as Director of External Relations at the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences.
Hilda has served on the Allegheny Regional Assets District board of directors and is a founding board member and past Chair of the Women and Girls Foundation. She currently serves on the board of Pittsburgh Opera and recently concluded her service on the founding board of the Pittsburgh Walk of Fame. Over the years, she has contributed to numerous nonprofit boards across sectors, including The Ellis School, Saturday Light Brigade, and WQED-Multimedia, and has been recognized by several organizations for excellence in service.
A graduate of the University of Hong Kong, Hilda holds a Master of Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She speaks three languages, and in the little spare time she has, is a porcelain painter.
